Offering an outstanding, exceptionally gorgeous, seldom seen Royal Dux figurine of a beautiful Scheherazade gypsy lady taunting her parrot with an apple. This is an original, true Art Deco period piece and is a fine example of Royal Dux's early and best quality work. The details are extraordinary, including the subject matter, coloring, modeling, and finish. The parrot is vividly colorful and realistically detailed; the gypsy girl has the most beautiful face and expression. Fabulous detail including her downturned intaglio eyes and those lovely teeth showcased by the loving smile she shines onto her beloved companion. Exquisite in every possible way---the best of the best! The size of this piece is also noteworthy; it measures 13.5 inches across and 8.5 inches high at highest point! It is marked with the Royal Dux Bohemia pink triangle and green circle "Made in Czechoslovakia" stamp, along with an incised mold number. There are no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration. The only thing to mention is that the bottom of the heel of the lower leg has a rough finish and is not glazed like the other heel is. The edges of this heel are a little sharp. It also appears to be slightly shorter than the heel of the raised leg, almost as if it has been shaved down for some reason. This really is minor, but I'm describing it with detail for complete accuracy. I've tried to capture it in a photograph. Easily forgivable given the beauty and rarity of this piece. Consider adding this magnificent example to your collection; you'll be hard pressed to see it again.
