Wallendorf Antique Elegant Art Deco FIGURE SKATER Porcelain Figurine Germany 1930s Signed. Figure skater figurine, made by Wallendorf porcelain Factory in Thuringia, Germany 1930s.
The figurine depicts a lovely girl in a black and white dress, skating on the ice. The figurine is exquisitely executed and finished in bisque (unglazed) porcelain for the face, arms and legs.
The dress, skates and the base are accented with glazed porcelain. The beautiful face of the girl is artfully hand painted. Porcelain production began in the municipality of Wallendorf, Thuringia in 1763 and operated under numerous restructurings, including its 1953 nationalization under the East German government, until 2008. The figurine has green Wallendorf Crown W 1764 mark, Germany (indicates production before WWII) and has imprinted number 1822. The figurine is as seen in the photos.7.75" tall and 7.75" wide along the bottom and extending right skate. Is in practically perfect condition with only imperfection of the missing part of the index finger on the left hand (see photo).
