Antique Cast Iron Milk House Dairy Cream Art Deco Porcelain Balance Scale White

  
Here we have a wonderful complete Art Deco creamery balance scale made of cast iron from circa the 1930s era. The scale is made of cast iron and has a white porcelain under finish with an aged white enamel outer coating. The scale does work and is entirely mechanical. I have no idea how to properly use it and calibrate the scale but I can say that tinkering with the front and side knobs I could get a precise balance between the vials. The side knob slides in and out and turns as well for extremely precise adjustments, the front knob only turns and does not have a pull out function. There is no major damage to the scale just aging and cosmetic finish imperfections such as the enamel paint coating has scraps and scratches. There are some slight areas of patina on the metal components but overall a beautiful complete survivor that is nearly a century old! This is the perfect accent piece for your farm, shop, Ice cream parlor or business sure to strike conversations everytime. The size is fairly compact and was intended for counter/desk top applications.

MEASUREMENTS- 10 1/2" wide x 10 1/4" tall x 5 1/2 depth. Note - the scale is a thick cast iron housing so there is some hefty weight to it but still very manageable as it was designed for counter use and is smaller to medium sized.
