This is a gorgeous white Parisian porcelain wash basin and pitcher in white with a purple and green Greek style banded design. Marked on bottom with Henry Alcock & Co logo that was used between 1880-91.
Marked Parisian porcelain and stamped "Oxford" which refers to the shape of the wash basin. The pitcher has the same band Greek style design pattern and purple and green colors but also has an intricate acorn and leaf banded design around the belly of the pitcher.
The pitcher is marked PB & Co (Pinder Bourne). There are some imperfections in these pieces (see description below).But, overall these are an unusual and beautiful color combination with a lovely style. Bowl: 14" in diameter, 4" tall. Pitcher: 11.5" tall, 8" from handle to spout. The bowl has a 3 wide spidered crack under the glaze on the rim. There are some minor chips in the paint.
The pitcher has one pitted crack in the side and some coloring imperfections along the front and back seams. There is some fading to the paint inside the pitcher.
