Homage to Clarice Cliff: Tea Set Art Deco Lustre Pink/ White Limoges/Silesia. I present an unusual and audacious tea set, an homage to Clarice Cliff, consisting of a teapot, creamer, 4 cups & saucers, and 4 dessert plates.

The set is decorated with an underglaze in lustred pink and white. Every piece is different - featuring a cottage with a smoking chimney, surrounded by many trees and flowered meadows. It reminds me of Clarice Cliff's "Secrets" pattern with a greater variety of trees. There are pink stars in the sky and even fish swimming in a stream (on the tea pot). The creamer has a mark for "Silesia" porcelain.

The tray (on another listing) has two marks: "Badley" hand printed (presumably the artist) and a Limoges stamp. CMC Limoges made blanks for other factories to decorate, and my guess is that a ceramic artist named "Badley" created the set on blanks from the Limoges and Silesia porcelain factories. No nics, no cracks, no staining, no restored parts, just some scratches of use, only seen under reflected light. For the sake of accuracy, there are a few pinpoints where glaze bubbles have burst, usually a sign of early manufacturing.

Teapot: 7" (18cm) high and 8" (21cm) across from tip of spout to end of handle. Dessert Plate: 7 5/8 (19.5cm) in diameter. Cup: 2 3/8" (6cm) high and 3 3/4" (9.5cm) diameter at top. Creamer: 2.5 (6.5cm) high. Truly an homage to the genius of Clarice Cliff, it is a whimsical and charming tea service ready for spring-to-fall al fresco enjoyment! Please see the beautiful vanity tray or platter in the same pattern! This item is in the category "Pottery & Glass\Decorative Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware\Plates".
