Very Good Art Deco-MCM Porcelain Sconces by Porcelier, Glass Shades, Restored. These porcelain sconces were manufactured by Porcelier sometime between 1940 and 1953. While the company was in business from 1928 to 1953, these also carry a Harmony House sticker, a marketing strategy used by Sears from 1940 to 1968. Therefore these fixtures date from 1940 to the early 1950's.

The sconces have a cream colored background with a pink band around the margins and a floral display of pink roses and blue garden flowers. They are highlighted with 24k gold accents which are in very good (but not perfect) condition. The 24k gold often shows losses because the gold was applied after the last firing, and they are above the glaze rather than under it like the rainbow colors. The fixtures have opal glass shades which are in near perfect condition.

One sconce has a small chip in the porcelain. It is not obvious, but it is there and a photo of it is shown (photos 9 & 10). We have carefully cleaned each of the sconces and removed the old wall paint and household dirt from the sides and backs. Each fixture has a bulb socket with a built in pull-chain switch which we rewired.

We also disassembled the switches, cleaned and polished the parts, lubed them, and put them back together. We replaced the original nickel plated chains with like kind in order to brighten them up. We have tested everything and everything is guaranteed to work correctly. The sale includes the correct mounting hardware (nickel plated mounting nuts, threaded nipples, crossbars).

Dimensions: 6-1/4 high x 4-5/8. " wide where they meet the wall, project 5" from the wall with shade in place. Measure 8-1/2 high from top of shade or tip of pull chain knob.

Use standard base bulbs (not included). Just notify us within 30 days of receiving them. We have more porcelain sconces in our other listings and lots of other porcelain ceiling fixtures for sale, so please check out our lighting store.
