PORCELIER Art Deco, White Porcelain Bath Sconces & Opal Glass Shades, Restored. This listing is for a pair of over-sink, over-mirror, white porcelain wall sconces with opal glass shades. The sconces were manufactured by Porcelier during the late 1920's or 1930's. They have been restored and are ready to hang on the wall. The porcelain and glass are both in very good condition though there is a small chip in the neck of one fixture, We have repaired it with epoxy putty (photo #8), and it is not visible when the glass shade is in place. We cleaned the fixtures of the old dirt and wall paint. We disassembled, cleaned, and polished the parts in the pull switches, and they work perfectly. We replaced the nickel plated chains with new ones, just to brighten them up. The chains include celluloid connectors which provided an electrical break in the chain and thus made them safer back in the day.

However, modern circuits have a safety ground and sometimes a GFCI, so while the celluloid connectors are generally unnecessary, they still provide that period look. If you have a wall switch, you can just set the pull switches to the ON position and use your wall switch. We left the chains long (21), but they are easy to trim and we would be glad to trim them for you if you specify the length. The fixtures even have their original porcelain pull knobs, a bonus because these are missing more than half the time. Also, please note that the center ridges on the shades align with the ridges on the sconces because the shades are original to the fixtures.

The correct mounting hardware is included in the sale. The sconces have been tested, are guaranteed to work correctly, and to be as described.

Dimensions: 6" high x 4-1/4" wide where they attach to the wall, project 8-1/4 from the wall with shade in place. Use standard base bulbs (not included).
