Pair PORCELIER Porcelain Ceramic Sconces, Garden Flowers, Gold Trim, Rewired
Pair of Antique / Vintage Porcelain Sconces, good pull chain switches, modern wiring. These porcelain bath sconces were made by Porcelier in the 1930's but they fit both art deco era and. They are beige or off-white in color and are decorated with red, blue, and yellow garden flowers. They have a lot of gold trim which is in excellent condition. The gold is often damaged on these fixtures because it is added after the last firing and is not protected by the glaze, making it vulnerable to abrasion. Their physical condition is excellent... Only one little chip at the mounting hole but it is covered by the mounting nut when mounted on the wall.
The pull chains work smoothly and correctly but we always recommend that a wall switch be the primary on/off method. These pull chain sockets are no longer made, and if one breaks you have to salvage another one to repair it (or bypass it). They might last another 40 years, who knows, but the wall switch is the better option. However, the pull chains give them that period look and if you are restoring an old house, these might be perfect.
The mounting hardware is included: new nickel plate mounting nuts, threaded nipples, crossbars. Dimensions: wall plate is 5" wide, 5-1/4" high, and projects 4-1/4 from wall. Height to the end of the chain is 7.
They use standard base bulbs (not included). Just notify us within 30 days of receiving them that you are returning them.
