This a superb and very rare example of Rosenthal porcelain from the Art Deco era. It is a very stylish figure or figurine of an iconic garcon-style cabaret dancer and was modelled by, and is signed by Gustav Oppel.
1925 and the figures pure white porcelain is decorated with a strong Tango orange and yellow colourway and is gilded with good quality burnished gold also. The figure is titled to the base (in red) and has Oppel's (or Opel's) impressed monogram to the base (see photo). The figure is shown dancing the Charleston and evokes' The Roaring Twenties' in Germany with such great flair and style. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration and would make a wonderful addition to a discerning collection of top quality art deco scultural figurines.
