Designed by Kurt Steiner and produced by Wallendorf untill 1950s. The figurine depicts a blond blue-eyed boy playing with a cat. Porcelain production began in the municipality of Wallendorf, Thuringia in 1763 and operated under numerous restructurings, including its 1953 nationalization under the East German government, until 2008. The figurine is exquisitely executed and finished in bisque porcelain with glazed accenting. The figurine is marked at the base with the Wallendorf Crown "W" mark, Germany (indicates production before WWII) and has a handwritten number 42.
The figurine is as seen in the photos. 5.2" high and 3.5" wide.
Figurine is in practically perfect condition and has no chips, cracks or repairs. The hand painted face of the boy is in mint condition.
