"Hopeless" is a stunning Art Nouveau nude statue from the famous ceramic factory Zsolnay in Hungary. It has a beautiful luster of yellow and green iridescent eosin glaze.
Eosin or eozin has been invented by the Zsolnay family and still they own its patent and keep the secret. Zsolnay is the only factory able to produce this unique fabrication method. Hopeless (1907) is designed by: Yrjo Liipola (1881 - 1971) Finish sculptor, emigrated and lived in Hungary about 30 years. Famous artist with lots of public statues.
This statue is in excellent shape. With a stamp of Zsolnay factory on the bottom.
